Our lime plastering services uses the traditional three to four coat system of aggregate, lime putty and hair
If we need to improve the strength and flexibility we can add hemp fibres as this increases the thermal property of the plaster and is the perfect complement to insulation your property to the highest level.
To perfectly restore your property we also offer a full bespoke lime rendering service as well as the lime pointing service.
Depending on location we blend a variety of aggregate and natural pozzolans to the lime putty to offer greater protection from the elements without compromising breathability. Our lime mortars and plasters can finished in a manner of styles to match the era of the building or specifications of the designer/architect.

SCAT COAT
The first stage is a scat/key coat, which is a sand and lime slurry mix which is harled onto the walls to give the key for the next coat.
SCRATCH COAT
The second stage is the scratch/dub coat. This is a three to one mix with added horse hair. It is used to build out any hollows and aid repairs. This is then scratched and allowed to cure. In some cases two coats may be required.
FLOAT FINISHING COAT
The third stage is an unhaired mix and is usually the final coat for exterior rendering. The mortar is trowelled on and then floated to finish.
INTERNAL LIME PLASTERING
This a three to two lime mix, which is applied to the previous three coats. This gives a very smooth and luxurious finish.
